Saudi Arabia— The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that Saudia institutional quarantine is no more required for foreign Umrah pilgrims coming from India , Pakistan and other countries who took two doses of Covid-19 vaccines approved in Saudi Arabia.
Fully vaccinated Umrah pilgrims can now travel directly to the holy city of Makkah and start performing Umrah rites without the need for institutional quarantine, the Saudi ministry explained.
The Saudi ministry has also said that the period of stay in the Kingdom for Umrah pilgrims coming from abroad has been increased to 30 days. Umrah Visa Validity is 30 Days
Before the travel suspension, following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, foreign Umrah pilgrims were allowed to stay up to 30 days in Saudi Arabia. When the temporary ban on Umrah in year 2020 , Umrah pilgrims was lifted & the service resumed on Nov. 1, 2020, foreign pilgrims were allowed a 10-day stay in the Kingdom of Saudi Araia.
Now all foreign Umrah pilgrims aged 18 and above will be granted a permit to enter Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah in year 2021 & 2022 Umrah Groups, in streamline with the terms and conditions set by the Saudi Ministry of Health.& Ministry of Haj Umrah, As for the domestic Umrah pilgrims, anyone aged 12 and above will be allowed to perform Umrah.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah clarified that the requirement for Umrah pilgrims from countries that are not included in the travel ban is only inoculation with two doses of coronavirus vaccines approved by the Kingdom. They are no longer required to comply with the condition of Saudi institutional quarantine.
However, a 3-day institutional quarantine is required for foreign pilgrims who are immunized with two doses of the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO). Such Umrah pilgrims have to carry a Printed PCR laboratory test after 48 hours of Saudi institutional quarantine, and then only will be allowed to perform Umrah directly if they submit a negative PCR report.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman recently issued an order for allowing, utilization of the full capacity of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque for receiving Umrah pilgrims and worshipers. Subsequently, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques have geared up to accommodate maximum number of domestic and foreign pilgrims including India, Pakistan and worshippers at the two holy mosques.
The Saudi ministry has also revoked the maximum age limit of 50 years for Umrah pilgrims coming to perform Umrah from outside Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the ministry had set a minimum age of 18 years and maximum 50 years to book an appointment and issue permit to perform Umrah, as well as the permit for prayer at the Grand Mosque and Al-Rawdah Sharif at the Prophet’s Mosque and visit the Prophet’s grave following the easing of restrictions that were imposed Due to following the coronavirus outbreak.
The Saudi ministry recently launched the service of issuing permits for Umrah as well as for access to the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah for those coming from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Eatmarna and Tawakkalna applications. While social distancing measures were lifted, Umrah pilgrims were still required to wear face masks and make Mandatory reservations to perform Umrah and prayers in order to verify their immunity status at the entrances of the holy mosques.
